Michael and Kalliope Chute of ALF’s Cape Cod Chapter were honored with an ALF Len Hadley Volunteer Award during the American Lighthouse Foundation’s annual Gala, which was held at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, Maine, on May 1, 2022.

Mike and Kalliope have been long–time Keepers at Race Point Lighthouse. They have always stepped up when something extra needed to be done with an admirable esprit de corps for furthering the mission of the Cape Cod Chapter. They have assisted in past Mariners’ Day events and during lighthouse tours at Race Point. Michael and Kalliope have also helped with other projects, such as hauling LP tanks to and from the remote station, cutting off 46-ft of exposed pipe from beach erosion, roof work, house painting, plumbing and weather station/camera installation. They both have a dear love of Provincetown and Race Point Light.

Both are local to the area and engaged in Cape Cod Chapter and community activities. From work on hazmat collection and oystering to small educational endeavors, these folks belong in the “givers” side of humanity. Congratulations to both of them. We are fortunate to have them as a part of RPL. For all of this and more, the American Lighthouse Foundation and its Cape Cod Chapter are pleased to honor Michael and Kalliope Chute with 2022 Len Hadley Volunteer Awards!
