Faith and Pete Richard of the Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses were presented with ALF Len Hadley Volunteerism awards during the American Lighthouse Foundation’s annual Gala, which was held at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, Maine, on May 7, 2017.
Faith and Pete Richard began volunteering for the Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses in 2015. They jumped right in at that point, helping on the annual clean-up day to prepare the lighthouse for the season. In addition to working at many of the Sunday open houses, Faith and Pete regularly sign up to give educational tours for school groups.
They have also helped with the popular nighttime “haunted tours,” which raise funds for FPHL’s preservation efforts. This kind of dedication and versatility make Faith and Pete great assets to FPHL – not to mention their inspirational energy, enthusiasm and good humor. We are proud to honor Faith and Pete Richards with a Len Hadley Volunteerism Award!
