Nationally Recognized Author Eric Jay Dolin to Speak at the Samoset Resort on June 25th

Best-selling author Eric Jay Dolin will be sharing some fascinating stories about our nation’s lighthouses when he presents his latest book, Brilliant Beacons: A History of the American Lighthouse, on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine.

For three hundred years America’s lighthouses have kept countless ships from wrecking, saved untold lives, and contributed mightily to the growth and prosperity of our nation. Eric Jay Dolin, the author of Leviathan: The History of Whaling in America, will share the dramatic story of these soaring coastal sentinels, using numerous slides to illuminate the beauty and grandeur of America’s lighthouses.

Brilliant Beacons: A History of the American Lighthouse, is a work rich in maritime lore and brimming with original detail, while presenting the most comprehensive history of American lighthouses ever written.

Author Eric Jay Dolin will also be signing copies of his new book at the conclusion of the presentation, which is sponsored by the American Lighthouse Foundation and its local chapter, Friends of Rockland Harbor Lights.

There is a suggested donation of $5 per person for the event that benefits local lighthouse preservation efforts at Rockland Breakwater, Owls Head and Browns Head lights.
