The year 2010 has been a busy one for the American Lighthouse Foundation and its chapters with many restoration projects. In all, six lights have received much needed work, including Pomham Rocks ($37,000 exterior repainting), Portsmouth Harbor ($30,000 exterior repainting), Wood Island ($113,000 interior and exterior restoration), Rockland Breakwater ($23,000 interior boathouse and exterior tower & granite work), Pemaquid Point ($84,000 interior repointing and exterior repainting) and Owls Head ($80,000 interior repointing and exterior repainting).
Much more work is needed at all 22 ALF lighthouses, with additional projects being planned for 2011. We can’t do it without the dedicated support of ALF members and friends just like YOU!
Join us in once again “standing a vigilant watch” over our lighthouses in 2011 – together we’ll leave the light on for others who will follow in our footsteps.
