Overview:
Located 2.5 miles offshore at the mouth of the Kennebec River, Seguin Island is the site of Maine’s 2nd oldest lighthouse. Ownership of the 64-acre island and light station buildings was transferred to the Friends of Seguin Island Light Station (FOSILS) in 1995 through the Maine Lights Program. Today, FOSILS maintains the light station and welcomes visitors to enjoy the 5 hiking trails, historical buildings, museum, gift shop, and in-season tours of the tower.

- Height of Tower: 53 feet
- Description: Cylindrical, white painted, cut granite tower with a first order fresnel lens showing a light at 186 feet above sea level.
- Status: Active Aid to Navigation and a host site for the AIS-based StationKeeper system, which is helping to protect the endangered North Atlantic Right Whale.

Seguin Island Light Station is located at the mouth of the Kennebec River and nearly 2.5 miles out. Accessible by boat or local charters.

A visit to Seguin Island is a journey to a place where time stands still. Spend the day visiting the island. Take a tour of the tower and museum, shop in the gift shop and hike one or more of the 5 trails around the island where you can enjoy the flora and fauna.
