On June 14, 20204, members of the Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse (FPRL) met at the gravesite of Keeper Thomas S. Fishburne in the Ancient Little Neck Cemetery in Riverside, RI, to honor his service as Pomham Rocks’ fourth Keeper (1898 – 1908). After the dedication, during which a United States Lighthouse Service marker was placed next to Keeper Fishburne’s grave, FPRL historian Dave Kelleher gave a tour of the cemetery where he pointed out other famous residents including the first mayor of New York, one of the Mayflower passengers, and a Civil War Medal of Honor recipient. The tour was followed by a lunch at Davenport’s in East Providence. It was a great turnout on a beautiful day!

Saturday, June 15 was the first tour of the 2024 season to Pomham Rocks Lighthouse. The boat was full, the weather was perfect, and the participants enjoyed a smooth ride thanks to Captains Alex Dias and Howard McVay. The tours are better than ever and passengers are treated to an informative visit at a lighthouse full of historically accurate items and details. Be sure to check out the website and sign up for a tour soon!  www.pomhamrockslighthouse.org
