Announcing “Love and Lighthouses”…

Starring the AMERICAN LIGHTHOUSE FOUNDATION, our CHAPTERS, VOLUNTEERS and YOU!

As the writer Richard Bach once said, “True love stories never have endings.”

This love story begins almost three decades ago with one forsaken lighthouse and a small group of people. With a love kindled in their hearts, they saw beyond a lonely, weathered lighthouse and boarded up keeper’s house. They envisioned a day when the light tower would once again shine bright as a guiding light and the keeper’s house was filled with the sounds of new friends enjoying precious time together in its cozy embrace.

Over the years, one lighthouse effort transformed into many more lighthouse endeavors—with numerous people giving their hearts to each new lighthouse in need. Caring for these lighthouses became a labor of love. This love has conquered many challenges and given each of us many warm memories. Our reward is hearing about the special moments this preservation work has fostered…a visitor climbing the lighthouse for the first time, vows exchanged at weddings, final goodbyes, and many other special moments. Now our lighthouses have become a part of others’ love stories.

This movie may not be real, but the story is true. “Love & Lighthouses” is the theme for our 2023 non–event “fun–raiser” to support ALF’s lighthouse preservation mission!
