Overview:
The Stage Island Monument was built in 1825 and stands 60-feet tall. At its base, the column’s diameter is 20-feet, and the walls are four-feet thick. At the top of the column, the walls are two-feet thick at the top and a cap stone of granite surmounts the structure. The Monument is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The year 2025 marks the Stage Island Monument’s 200th anniversary. Presently, the American Lighthouse Foundation is working to raise funds for the historic site’s exterior restoration.
