SUMMARY:Southern Penobscot Bay 11 Lighthouse Cruise
DESCRIPTION:Join the American Lighthouse Foundation for a special cruise on Tuesday\, August 6th to view 11 lighthouses around southern Penobscot Bay and the Muscle Ridge Channel! \nWe will depart from Camden’s Public Landing at 8:00am aboard the Camden Harbor Cruises’ vessel Periwinkle. We will return to the dock around 4:00pm. \nOur route will allow us to get close-up views of Curtis Island\, Indian Island\, Rockland Breakwater\, Owls Head\, Whitehead Island\, Tenants Harbor\, Two Bush\, Heron Neck\, Saddleback Ledge\, Goose Rocks\, and Browns Head lighthouses. We might even see seals and other wildlife along the way too! \nIn addition to historical narration provided by the crew of the Periwinkle\, American Lighthouse Foundation Executive Director\, Bob Trapani will be aboard to share interesting lighthouse tidbits. \nTicket Price: $225 per person.  This is a special limited ticket event (14 tickets only) to allow comfortable space for photography — early booking is encouraged! \n\nPurchase Tickets:\nOnline tickets closed. \nPlease Note: Tickets are non-refundable unless cruise is cancelled or we are able to fill your space from a waiting list. \nYou may also purchase tickets via phone by calling the American Lighthouse Foundation office at: 207-594-4174. \n\nWhat to Bring:  \nThis is a BYO event\, so pack a lunch\, snack and something to drink since we will be out all day. It can be cool out on the water\, even during the summer\, so we recommend you bring a sweatshirt or light jacket. Sunblock\, hat and sunglasses are recommended too. Lastly\, be sure to have your camera or binoculars! \nWhere do we park? \nThe town of Camden has two all-day parking lots: one is on Washington Street just past the fire station on the right\, and the other is on Atlantic Avenue just past the Camden Public Library\, on the left. Both are within walking distance of the public landing. \nIs there a bathroom onboard? \nYes\, there is a flushable toilet (or ‘head’ if you’re a mariner) on Periwinkle. \nCheck-in time: \nPlan to arrive and check in with us no later than 20 minutes before departure time. SUMMARY:Matinicus Rock: Puffin & Five Lighthouse Cruise
DESCRIPTION:Join the American Lighthouse Foundation for a special cruise on Tuesday\, July 16th to view nesting Atlantic Puffins at Matinicus Rock Lighthouse\, part of the Maine Coastal Islands Wildlife Refuge! Those onboard will have the opportunity to obtain water views of nesting Atlantic Puffins\, Matinicus Rock Lighthouse and 4 additional lighthouses along the cruise route.  \nThis cruise will depart from the Camden’s Public Landing at 8:00am aboard the Camden Harbor Cruises’ vessel Periwinkle. We will return to the dock around 4:00pm. \nWe will spend approximately 30 minutes cruising around Matinicus Rock\, which will provide ample time to view puffins and other nesting seabirds on the island.
